Waimauku is a small locality in the Auckland Region, located approximately 4 km west of Huapai on SH16. Waimauku is the junction point for Muriwai Beach and Helensville, just 16 km northwest. The name Waimauku comes from the Māori words “wai” (stream) and “mauku” (varieties of small ferns). Nearby towns include Riverhead and Taupaki. The Waimauku Dairy Factory, established in 1909, specialized in collecting cream from surrounding areas and operated until it closed in 1956.
